Access Services is the ADA service for the bus system in Los Angeles. A lot of operations, like Access Services, do paratransit using a dedicated DVR system. But, as Rick Streiff explains, these systems have a large footprint and put a large load on the vehicle’s power system. With SmartDrive, Access Services is able to see how their drivers were performing while SmartDrive analysts reviewed the events and provided information to improve the drivers’ behavior. In addition, the video helps Access Services to know what its passengers are doing and protect their drivers when passengers complain. “It’s helped us get out of some sticky situations.”
